Random Musings

Hello there and Happy Saturday! :)

I love the weekends. I think I say this every time it is the weekend hah.

I love Bentley. I think I have a problem.

This morning I had a long run planned. I actually only planned on doing five miles but I was enjoying myself so much that I ran six. Not a big difference, but it felt great.

I took my time getting outside and actually debated on skipping and taking a spin class instead. My stomach was not being friendly this morning and my big toe hurt. I do not know why.

I ended up just getting outside and telling myself if I have to I can just stop and go back. What do you know? I kept going and felt awesome :)

After some coffee and a banana/dry cereal, I walked outside to this. I told myself to do as much as I could before it rained. It never rained yay!

I completed six miles then took Bentley on a loooong walk to shake it out. He was a happy boy:D

I felt so good I wanted to do some strength and thought about going to my apartment gym do lift weights.

That did not sound appealing so I decided to check out Exercise TV and I found Butt Bible.

I couldn’t help but laugh the whole time because she kept repeating…

“Ass to the Grass”, “Crack the Nut in between your Butt”, “I love working my butt so much”, “Everyone should have a nice butt”.

It didn’t need any weights so that’s why I did it, but it was a short 20 min workout and super effective! I totally felt the burn.

I refueled with this after I was done.

Seriously, this was so good. It tasted exactly like chocolate milk but without lactose or dairy. Perfect post-workout fuel!

Lets rewind to yesterday!

I went to Whole Foods to get some stuff for my Foodie Pen Pal (hosted by Lindsay) that is due the 15th!

I couldn’t help myself but I bought myself a new flavor of Kombucha.

IMG_1231

Guava. Ohhhh my this was good. I will definitely get it again!

I then went to the grocery store and got some other new to me things.

Such as….

IMG_1241

Pumpkin Spice Soymilk.

IMG_1246

Tempeh.

IMG_1244

Pomegranate! Not sure what I am going to do with this.

IMG_1245

IMG_1240

Turkey Sweet Potato organic dog treats? Yes I did.

I think he liked them :D This picture was mid-chew.

For dinner my mom brought home Swedish meatballs, and yucca from a work party that they had for 11/11/11 (wtf?).

I had never had either of those, so I made a plate and added some extra veggies.

IMG_1250

I am obsessed with brussel sprouts and I have always been obsessed with carrots.

The yucca and meatballs were pretty good! She also brought home this…

A mini pumpkin cheesecake.

I was really full and I don’t even like cheesecake, but it was pumpkin so I had to try it. Yumm! The pumpkin made it, but it didn’t sit too well with my stomach later on =/

I’m off to get some things done, have a great weekend!:)

Any recipes or ideas on what to do with the Tempeh?

Great job on stretching out that long run, ya, long runs are always my favorite and once you get in the groove it’s tempting to go a little loner…a little longer…etc…hehe.

also a fan of the soy choc milk, i don’t like regular milk but the soy stuff i do…plus, it’s the perfect recovery drink! and that meal looks delish. :)

  8. Haha someone needs to tell that girl on the cover of the Butt Bible video that her booty is showing. Just sayin’!

With tempeh I always just cook it on the stovetop in strips and put it into a stir fry or on top of a salad. Some people like to add it as a “meat” into sandwiches, but it’s totally your call

Mmm, I love brussel sprouts. And tempeh! Just sliced and stir-fried is delicious! Way to be adventurous with new foods and products, I need to that more often. And my workout has yet to happen, but will involve some running and abs at the very least.
