After a 2 & 1/2 hour car ride, I’m back in Orlando!
I did get hit with a few monsoons, no big deal. It was a beautiful day out until I got on the road of course. It didn’t last long though, and luckily I’m a good driver in the rain.
Pet peeve? People who put on their hazards. Seriously, don’t. If you are one of those people, I’m sorry but never again. It definitely makes it worse not better!
Anyway, before I left I hit up Target with my mom. She bought me some makeup because I was in desperate need and some flaxseed oil. She’s so sweet <3
And yes, I buy my makeup wherever. I’m one of the few girls that is so not picky with stuff like that.
I also got a George Foreman!! I’ve had one at home forever, but when I moved back up to Orlando my roommates never grill so we didn’t have one.
I’ve been making my chicken and stuff in the oven. Not too bad, but I’m just glad to have one again.
I love it! It’s the perfect size for me.
Once I got home, I had a package waiting for me! Love that.
I’m running out of my beloved Sunwarrior, and this is the powder Jamie Eason recommends. As much as I love Sunwarrior, the price of $42 is just a little much.
Usually it’s worth it, but since I needed to buy all the other supplements, I thought I’d try this powder out. It was only around $12-$15. You can’t beat that. I’m hoping it’s good!
After unpacking and doing some laundry, I hit up the grocery store for a full on food shopping.
Going away for a week means ZERO food in my town house when I get back.
I got a bunch of meats, veggies, and clean eats! Now I have a fully stocked fridge/pantry.
While I was at the store, I bought another kitchen appliance.
Food scale! Since I’m following the LiveFit trainer, I wanted to know exactly how many oz. I’m eating.
I love to be precise, and already use measuring cups for dry things.
However, I never really knew how many ounces a piece of fish, chicken, or even a sweet potato was. I got the old fashioned scale because it was $10. So cheap, and it’s a perfect size.
While I was prepping dinner, I placed a small sweet potato on the scale.
Little did I know, the entire thing was 13 oz. The serving size is 4-6! Crazy.
So half the potato was the serving size, something I never knew! No wonder American’s have serious portion distortion.
My finished meal. Tilapia, sweet potato, and brussel sprouts. I forgot how much I love brussel sprouts, delicious.
What is your favorite protein powder?
Do you use a food scale or do you generally know the size?
Do you grill, bake, or fry?

TOTALLY agree on the hazards. People need to just be careful and go slow… they don’t realize no one can see them in time when they are stopped, even with their hazards on!
Ok, now I want a George Foreman. Seriously.

Glad you made it back to Orlando safely! I’m one of “those girls” who buys their makeup at Target too. Mixing and matching is definitely the way to go; I think some of the best products on the market are found in drugstores!
How do you like the MRM Whey protein powder? I’ve been thinking about ordering it since I started Live Fit, but I’m ready to abandon Tera’s Whey (currently my favorite!).
I completely agree with you about portion distortion! When I bought my kitchen scale, I couldn’t believe how small correct serving sizes really are.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! xoxo

I just got a food scale for Christmas, it is so true I never realized how much over some of my food portions were. I always measure out most things I could, but with the food scale it helps so much! I love it!
An entire new WORLD of portioning is about to be unveiled to you! I don’t typically measure out my food portions, but whenever I do (once in a blue moon) it’s eye opening to see how much I’m REALLY eating
Glad you returned safely

I just got a George Foreman too! I’m loving it so far because it cooks my chicken a lot faster than in the oven! Also I can make things like kebabs and grilled veggies on it too!
I don’t have a food scale, but I’d be scared to use one. I’m pretty sure my portions are way out of whack!

George foremans look super useful – I’ve never used one before though! I’m thinking I would use mine as a panini press quite frequently

i LOVE my george foreman! it’s especially nice during the colder months when we don’t want to go outside to grill. i also like making panini sandwiches on it. that’s crazy about the sweet potato… you’re so right, our view of food portions are so distorted these days!
