So I know I literally JUST wrote a post about how I was having back pain and back spasms.
And if you follow me on twitter or instagram, you may have noticed I’ve still been posting my fitfluential proof pictures.
If you don’t really know me, then you probably wouldn’t know that I’m a little bit stubborn at times. Just a little ![]()
So on Monday even though I was dying to get in the gym, I took the day off. I needed it, and I know when I’m injured I do not want to injured myself even further.
However, Tuesday came along and I felt a tiny bit better, so I mostly just did cardio and a little bit of chest with light weights.
Wednesday came along, and it was leg day. I LOVE leg day. Like really, I love it. I look forward to it. And I really didn’t want to miss it. I decided Tuesday night to see how I felt in the morning and then decide if I should workout or not.
I woke up Wednesday, and I felt magically better!
Biofreeze, I love you. I still wanted to play it safe so I did my leg workout, but used lighter weights than I normally would, and dumbbells instead of barbells or the smith machine so nothing would have to go on my shoulders.
So far so good. I made it through leg day, very very minimal back pain, and still feeling great. I’m still being careful though just in case and I will continue to biofreeze the heck out of my back.
For some reason, my upper back is sore and not really my legs. I don’t understand because I didn’t work my upper back at all this week? Anyway, today was arms, abs, and cardio.
Can I just tell you all how BORING cardio is becoming to me?
I never though those words would come out of my mouth, but yes it’s boring to me right now and I’m loving the weight training much more than the cardio. Although, I still love how sweaty cardio gets me.
Some eats as of late:
I’ve been slacking on the veggie roasting and finally got to roasting some yesterday. So good. Just a tablespoon of olive oil, pepper, garlic, and basil.
Daily salad with spinach, tomato, chicken, cauliflower, goat cheese. I make my own dressing by the way, it’s super easy and a lot healthier.
You can find the recipe here and lately I haven’t even been putting salt or pepper and it still comes out perfect.
Awesome PWO smoothie. It’s the first time I used pasteurized egg whites in a smoothie. I was scared, but it came out good.
I just did ice, 1/2 frozen banana, 1/3 c. egg whites (or two egg whites), 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 c. almond milk, vanilla stevia, spinach.
Have you ever put pasteurized egg whites in a smoothie?
Favorite form of cardio?
Are you stubborn with missing your workouts?

I’ve heard of putting egg whites in a smoothie but never tried it before!! It’s a great way to sneak in some extra protein, that’s for sure!
I love running the best. My favourite are the 30s on 30s off sprints. I feel like it goes by super fast and I get a really good sweat!

I feel the same way about weights lately. Cardio seems dreadful – I just want to lift heavy stuff.
I’ve never tried egg whites in my smoothie… but you have me curious. Was the texture weird?

Not at all!!:)
Ugh, I hate cardio. So yahhh with the boring thing. I mainly get in most of my cardio by taking group fitness classes (time flies by and not as boring) and I usually will do one outside run a week.
I have seriously been lacking in vegetables lately. A few pieces of lettuce here or a tomato there but other than that, nope! I’m thinking I am going to start making vegetable omelettes in the morning and roasting broccoli at night. I love roasted vegetables so I don’t know what’s been my deal

AHH I’m so happy to hear the pain has subsided!! That’s awesome!:D And I totally know how you feel about cardio, it’s just so dang dullsville haha

Love putting egg whites in my smoothies for even more of a protein punch, I think it makes the texture even creamier

I go through phases, but I definitely a cardio person. I love walking and the elliptical right now, but I can’t wait to get outside biking this summer!

My sister swears by biofreeze, so happy it worked out for you! And I swear by eggs in my smoothies! I was afraid of the texture at first, but didn’t even notice it. Yum

Did you do any straight leg deadlifts at all in your leg workout? That’s the only thing that will sometimes make by back a little sore after legs.
I’m glad to hear you are loving weights- It’s seriously the way to go! I find cardio boring as well so I’ve been trying to play sports to get my cardio in every week!

Yup! But it was more of a back spasm instead of a sore lol
3 cheers for daily salads! 4 cheers since goat cheese was involved!

i don’t like smoothies (i’ve gotta eat something not drink it) but i HAVE had egg whites in cocktails before. does that count?!
so cool that you strength train in vibrams. i’m loving strength training too! cardio gets so monotonous on machines. that’s why i love getting it through classes.
but yes the sweat is addicting. i do the step mill whenever i have to do machine cardio (aka no class available to me at the time of my workout) b/c it gets me the sweatiest. and it’s easier to read a mag and keep myself occupied since i’m not bouncing around!
and oh man i’m stubborn about missing a workout. i need to learn how to rest…

egg whites in cocktails?!?! interesting!! I like eating instead of drinking too but sometimes i craave one
So happy your back is feeling better! How awesome that you woke up and it was back to normal. Lucky you. I find cardio pretty dull too, unless its a spin class! I usually just to circuit workouts or tabatas so I don’t die of bordum! I like egg whites in smoothies, I almost had a heart attack the first time I tried it because I thought it would be disgusting, but its pretty good and makes it creamier!
so happy you are feeling better love
I am loving your #PROOF pics! I saw the one today heading home from the gym
Made me so happy xo

I’ve thought about putting egg whites in a smoothie but it kind of freaks me out. I think it’s the texture! Right now my favorite form of cardio is the stair mill, zumba, or turbo kick.

Yay! That’s awesome that your back is feeling better! I’m really stubborn about missing my workouts too. A few times this year I got so sore the day after doing a leg workout that I had to take an unplanned rest day. It irked me!
Running is my favourite form of cardio!

Looks like you had a great workout! I love leg day too but now I do mainly full-body HIIT circuits. I was thinking today I want to get back into split training maybe for a week here and there. I do miss it!

It makes my workouts more interesting! Love HIIT though
LOVE green smoothies. Had one for lunch today
Best cardio for me has to be treadmill or hiking outdoors.
Cute blog!
