Living

A little over a month ago I got hit with some news that I couldn’t quite wrap my head around.

I heard that an old friend of mind had passed away and shortly after that I went to his funeral.

Well, today is his 20th birthday. Just saying that seems so surreal because he was SO young. I still don’t really believe it.

Sometimes I don’t believe in the saying “everything happens for a reason,” especially when something like this happens.

Luckily, my best friends Brittany and Brooke went to his memorial last night to say happy birthday. I wish I could have been there!

I know he is looking down and watching over his friends, family, and son. Everyone misses him terribly. RIP angel <3

It just really makes you think about how unexpected life really is. You never know what is going to happen next, or when something is going to happen.

That is why it is so important to forgive and love one another. Let your loved ones know how much you love them constantly.

It’s easy to get wrapped up in your daily lives, but honestly, how long does it take to say I love you once or twice a day.

Learn to not hold grudges and let go of the little things. Be happy, kind, and caring towards other people.

Have fun, laugh, follow your heart, and do what makes you happy. Stop wishing for things you don’t have, and be grateful for all that you do have.

And truly live life to its full potential.

I know it sounds cliché, but I feel we could all use a little reminder every now and then.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day!

  7. I couldn’t agree more. I’m only 22 and I’ve already lost two classmates (One of them when I was in 7th grade) and a few of my friends have already lost parents. So this is something I think about often. Life is too short to just get by. We really do need to live life to it’s full potential. :)

Losing a friend is one of the hardest things to go through.
I have gone through it myself.
What you say here is such a lovely sentiment. I hope everyone does remember that life is short. Enjoy it and love one another.

I’m so sorry you lost your friend, especially since he was so young. There’s no doubt in my mind he’s looking down on you from heaven, happy and free with the Lord :)
I love this post and I couldn’t agree more though, our lives are way too short to sweat the small stuff. Here’s to living the heck out of the days we’ve been given! :)

  11. I’m sorry that you have to go through this :( It is VERY difficult to lose a friend, especially one close in age-range. I remember in middle school one of my classmates was murdered, and it was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life.

Hugs to you during this tough time <3

  12. This post is really appropriate for me today. My uncle passed away yesterday after a short battle with cancer. I thought he wasn’t old enough to die (he was 61) but your friend was far, far too young for sure. It’s so tragic when a life is taken away at any age, and I’m sorry your friend didn’t get to live more of his.

Hugs from one griever to another.

  14. This was such a great post! Very true and very touching! We all need those reminders daily! I am so sorry about your friend, it is so hard to see others go!
As much as we always like to think things happen for a reason, sometimes it’s hard to wrap your head around what a good reason for this could be! Maybe to show others how precious life is and to live life to the fullest, like you said here!

  17. This is a beautiful tribute to Adario, and a heartfelt reminder that life is truly a gift. Each day we have an opportunity to live with passion and compassion or to just go through the motions. Thanks for reminding us to do the former–to make the most of our unpredictable, yet exciting journeys. HUGS. I know how hard it is to lose a close friend; I’m here if you ever want to chat! xoxoxo <3

  18. This is so beautiful, Brittany. I totally agree! In this blog world (especially lately), I have noticed many people becoming OBSESSED with getting their “perfect beach body” and it makes me sad because for every minute we obsess over our bodies, we lose one minute of loving others (and ourselves), and spreading love and light to those around us. You are a shining beacon of light. I just love you! I’m so glad we’ve become bloggie friends. <3 xoxo
