Grocery Haul

Morning! I’m starting to post later and later because I am now on summer time.

No alarm, no time I “have” to be up. Just waking up naturally and leisurely sipping on my coffee, reading blogs and eating breakfast. I love it.

The other day I went food shopping because we had NO food in the house. I love grocery shopping and stocking the fridge with fresh fruits, veggies, and everything else.

Yes, I carried all of these up three flights of stairs at once. Am I the only one who refuses to make another trip?

I don’t normally show what a full shopping trip looks like in my house, so I thought maybe you guys would like to see!

Or maybe I’m the only weirdo that likes to see what is the norm for everyone else. Anyway…… I did spend quite a bit of money but I got necessities and some other things I wanted to try.

IMG_4242

Fresh vegetables and strawberries. I always have broccoli on hand, but I try to venture out and get a variety of other vegetables. This trip I got spaghetti squash, cauliflower, and asparagus. We already had spinach in the fridge, which I always need on hand as well.

IMG_4244

Tomatoes, bananas, and blueberries (they were finally on sale.)

IMG_4243

Meats, sweet potatoes, apples, and an Asian pear.

IMG_4241

These are a MUST. Always need to be stocked with egg whites, almond milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, and half & half for coffee.

IMG_4240

Now this is where I started getting things that aren’t necessarily “necessities”.

Truvia, shredded coconut, almond extract, Mrs. Dash salt-free seasoning, puffed rice for me in case I wanted a crunch or something in my yogurt, dry roasted edamame for salad toppings, and whole wheat pita for the madre.

Coffee is a must, but then I also got jelly, nut butters (Barney is amazing and it was on sale so I couldn’t pass it up, so excited for that; and as you can see I am now officially a Sunbutter convert, I love it), and Apple Cider Vinegar.

Everyone on the Jamie Eason plan talks about ACV and how it helps decrease bloat and Tosca Reno swears by it so I’m trying it!

I put it in my salad yesterday with some dressing and didn’t taste it at all. I’m still trying to talk myself into take straight shots…. I’m scared. I’ll let ya know how that turns out.

But that’s basically it!

What is something you MUST have in your fridge at all times?

How often do you go to the grocery store?

Do you take ACV?

don’t take shots of ACV! It is super acidic so the acid will ruin your teeth!

We eat so similarly :) I love seeing what other people buy at the grocery store! I always gotta have fresh veggies, fruits, and egg whites. I use all those everyday. I usually go to the grocery store 2-3 times a week, because I ALWAYS forget something. I should really start writing a list!

    • I swear, I am ALWAYS at the store. First, I forget something so I go back. Then I run out of something that I had from before, so I go back. Then I run out of another so I go back. Next thing I know it, I’m out of other things haha

  12. YESS!!! I knew that you would eventually convert over to the dark (Sunbutter) side ;) It takes a litttle getting used to, but once you adapt it’s pretty hard to think of nut butter the same way!

I always have to have apples, greek yogurt, eggs, and peanut butter. If I see I’m getting low on any, I’ll make a special trip just for them! ha

The makings of a very balanced diet! I love that you keep it real by buying what’s on sale. Especially fresh produce which can be so insanely expensive (no wonder people eat so many packaged, processed foods – they are cheaper!).
