3 lb. Bag of Broccoli

Wow, I cannot believe it’s already Monday!

This weekend I have been non-stop super busy. In case you missed anything:

Fun Friday Survey

Impromptu Rest Day

Saturday morning I had a long day planned. I woke up early ready to hit the gym after resting the day before. It was a leg day, and my hamstrings are still feeling it!

After that, I went straight to south Florida and got my hair done.

I’m back to the blonde color that I have been practically forever, yay! I’m feeling more like myself.

After that, we went a little farther south and went to my grandma’s house.

Her 92nd birthday was on Wednesday. Crazy, right?! I didn’t take any pictures, I was just soaking up time with her, but we picked up Longhorn steakhouse and had a nice little meal with her.

We drove all the way back home up North and pretty much crashed.

Sunday morning I slept in but then was non-stop again all day! Gym, cleaning, etc.

But one thing that’s worth blogging about Sunday?

We got a costco membership. Holy moly, that place can be overwhelming!!

And yes, I’m a noob and have never been there before yesterday.

We figured that it could save us some money in the long run if we could buy bulk for certain things. Such as, a 10 lb bag of chicken breast for $22. We are set for a while.

Plus, a 3 lb. bag of broccoli. Oh yeah. We got a lot more, but no need to show everything!

I ended the day with some major foam rolling on my sore hamstrings.

Are your weekends non-stop or relaxing?

Do you shop at Costco? Favorite thing to get there?

  6. Ha, that’s a lotta’ broccoli! I used to have a Costco membership, but I didn’t renew it after a year. I realized I didn’t save any $ by going there, but I really miss the huge bags of pears and this one type of organic chicken brats. Oh, and I guess I miss the wine too!

I AM SO SO HAPPY THAT YOU WENT TO COSTCO. That place is my heaven and I used to get their broccoli all of the time:) All of their produce is amazing. Girl, your hair looks incredible. You are so beautiful!

  8. I’m obsessed with Costco!! Sometimes my hubby and I will make a day of it there (with lunch consisting solely of free samples!)

  9. Costco can be a life saver for those bulk items, especially tp, and of course 3lbs of broccoli. Only if it’s organic though — lots of their produce is GMO — all costco’s are different though, so maybe yours is better than mine:)

  10. Happy birthday to your grandma! :)

And yay for Costco! I always have so much fun wandering through its aisles. I love buying Mary’s Crackers, almonds, Greek yogurt, and meat/seafood there.

I am obsessed with Costco. This obsession has been present for years. My go to items change every so often, right now I am loving the 12 pack of field roast vegan sausages for $11. They are normally about $5 for one of the 4packs, but you save about $5 buying in the bulk. I eat them almost everyday! Plus you can’t go wrong with bulk broccoli and free samples! Love the hair!

  24. Welcome to the wonderful world of Costco! My family used to go about once/month when I was young, and I remember loving those weekend shopping trips because I got to ride in the cart and eat all the free samples! (Were they sampling when you went? If not, make sure you go back when they are! I’m sure most of it’s unhealthy, but it’s still fun!). Now I never go to Costco because it’s not really practical for one person. I *might* be able to get through that bag of broccoli though!

LOVE your hair! Blonde is always best. ;)

    Hugs! xoxo

Costco is my favorite! My roommates and I split a membership so we always stock up on stuff and split it. My favorite things to buy are nuts, chicken breast, basil pesto (AMAZING..you must try it!) and trail mix. They sell a big box of prepackaged pistachios that are perfect for snacking on in class too :)

Hey Brittany! I’m a first year college student and I was wondering if you could give any advice on staying fully committed to a healthy lifestyle. I eat healthy and workout for long periods of time but I have short spurts of bad eating, I want to eliminate these and stay healthy all the time. Any advice would be great, thanks!

    • Hi, Tristen!
I am not an RD or anything so I cannot give perfect advice. However, I do believe in the 80/20 rule! You should allow yourself to indulge once in a while and enjoy treats in moderation. So if you are eating healthy most of the time and then indulge once in a while, you shouldn’t beat yourself up over it :) Make sure you are eating enough too, because sometimes that can lead to over eating in the long run.

    I HEART BROCCOLI

I recently decided that broccoli is my favorite food. I can blend it up with some salted water and boiled carrots and make a very satisfying soup. The giant Costco bag is my favorite!
