Friday Randoms

Hey there! I figured I’d do a little list today because I have some random stuff to share.

I’m sure you’re all saying “what else is new?” because yes, I am usually pretty random.

Anyway, here it goes…

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DAD!!!!

Hahaha! Yes, it’s this wonderful guys birthday. He is always supporting me no matter what school I’m transferring, what my next goal is, one of the most generous people I know, and is one of my blogs #1 fans. Love you dad! <3

2. Ever heard of those shirataki noodles?

noodles

Um, yeah. Don’t buy them. Power to the people that CAN eat these things. I felt like I was eating brains and almost threw up. I had to stop eating halfway through.IMG_4430

I just couldn’t do it.

3. Got PROOF? I’m sure you’ve seen this all around the blog world, but myself and my fellow fitfluential ambassadors want to encourage people to workout. What a better way to show off what exercise you rock?! Show me your proofs!

30 min. HIIT style sprints.

4. Anything sautéed in coconut oil is amazing.

Spinach was going bad, so I threw it in a pan with some coconut oil and garlic powder.

Had some green beans and leftover red pepper and onion, so I threw those in a pan with coconut oil. Absolutely delicious. I’m loving everyyyything coconut.

5. This is weird, but I’ve been loving mustard as dressing.

IMG_4422

The salad looks gross, please disregard. But I have no idea why I’ve been craving this. Oh well.

6. I love this quote so much.

What is a weird food combo or craving you like?

Have you ever tried those “noodles”?

What have you been loving lately?

I used to eat those noodles sometimes a couple years back and I liked them! However, the other week I bought them again because they were on sale (I’ve always bought the fettuccine kind) and i’m with you… GROSS! I had to throw them out and make a new dinner…they were chewy and gritty- I hated them! Never again…

  2. Oh no – I forgot to take my proof pic yesterday! Awesome job with yours though! I did 30 sec sprints for 20 min then did HIIT on the stairclimber for 20 min (I get bored staying on one machine) THEN got back on treadmill for 10 more min of 30 sec sprints. That energy level doesn’t happen that often so I took advantage of it!

    I put mustard on EVERYTHING!

Have a great weekend pretty girl & Happy Birthday to your dad! :-)

  3. I agree, they taste like brain and smell like fish food. I think it is a desperate attempt to eat high volume low calorie. Give me vegetables any day. Mustard with balsamic vinegar is so goo for salad. I still have yet to try coconut oil, I am desperate to find this product. I swear I will one day. LOVE the quote.

  4. HAHA I laughed out loud when I read your reaction to the Shiritaki Noodles! I’m telling ya– if you even MILDLY like the taste of normal pasta, it will be verryyy difficult to eat those babies. They are definitely their own breed of food!

    Happy birthday to your daddy!!!

  5. Happy birthday to your dad! Lately I’ve been putting hummus on my salads as a dressing. I guess to the blogger world it isn’t weird, but to everyone else it’s a little strange. So good!

This might be a dumb question, but does coconut oil have a really strong coconut taste to it? I’ve been wanting to get some but idk if I can do a strong coconut taste :-/

  11. Ha – the first time I tried the “noodles” I couldn’t eat them. I took a few bites and threw the rest out. I gave them another shot, and I cooked them a little differently recently. They were much better!

Aw, happy birthday to your dad!

I have tried those noodles. They tasted okay but ultimately I didn’t like them more than regular pasta so once was enough for me! Plus getting past the smell before they cooked was not easy :)

    Have a great weekend!

  17. Ewww. They do look like brains! Want to know what’s better than mustard as dressing? Mix mustard and BBQ sauce…mind blowing.
I have coconut oil, but never really knew what to do with it, thanks for the ideas!

  18. Lisa says:

Happy birthday to your dad!!! I hope he enjoys his special day. Thanks for the warning on the noodles, they kind of look gross anyways haha, but I was a little curious about them. Definitely not going to be buying them! I seriously am obsessed with anything coconut too haha. It is just so darn good. I like using hummus or something as dressing on a salad, no mustard for me, I’m actually allergic to it

I picked up some noodles like that but they are made from yam flour (?) and not tofu. I haven’t tried them yet but I imagine I’ll also be grossed out. Did you rinse them thoroughly first? I know you are supposed to do that before you cook/eat/whatever with them LOL

  20. I’ve been loving the Food Should Taste Good Works All-Natural Chips…might be a bad, but delicious, habit!
Eating brains sounds horrible…thanks for the heads up on the “do not buy this list!”

  24. I’ve never tried those noodles because I just don’t think they’d be satisfying – I’d rather just have real pasta or rice. I’m glad to hear they’re not good anyway!

I use mustard as dressing all the time. Try mixing it with 2 Tbsp of Balsamic Vinegar. It’s delicious.

  27. Laurence says:

I’ve never tried those noddle but I’m not a huge fan of “low cal foods”. I like real tasty food even if I will eat less of it =)

  28. I squeeze mustard on my salads all the time! It’s really good mixed with a little bit of stevia too–kind of like a honey mustard. :)

I used to eat Shirataki noodles all the time to save calories, but now there’s no way I’ll put them near my mouth! They really are awful, and definitely smell like fish! :-p If you want pasta, eat real pasta! It’s much more satisfying. :)

Happy Birthday to your dad! I hope you had a fun celebration Friday! Love ya, girl! xoxo
