Sore from Cardio

Hi! Did everyone have a great Valentine’s day? I didn’t do anything. I think it’s a silly holiday (I’m one of those people) because I think if you’re in a relationship, you can show someone you love them every day. And if not, you can cry that you’re single every day. Ha ha.

My roommate did get me a balloon with a pack of gum attached to the end. How cute!

And my mom sent me a text of when she was bored and drew this. She’s talented.

I just had to get a little festive, and of course I painted my nails with a Valentine’s theme. Love the pink.

Anyway, this week started body split training and I am loooving it! The first few weeks of Body Earned is all full-body circuits, and then it moves into body part splits which I LOVE.

You know how I’ve been trying to build muscle? Well after over 5 weeks of ZERO cardio, I added it back in on Monday!

I thought I was going to die, but surprisingly I felt stronger and faster. Heck yes! Another surprise? My legs were SO SORE the next day. Just from sprints. How crazy is that?

They were sore all the way up until leg day. And then I died even more, and they are still sore. At least I like the feeling Winking smile I’m weird.

I am in LOVE with this shirt I ordered!!! I got it on a website called Skreened if anyone wants to get it and be my twin. I know you want to!

Last but not least, I’m pretty sure this will always be one of my favorite breakfasts.

Have a great Friday!!

  1. 5 weeks of no cardio would definitely make that first day back a tough one!! I’m glad you survived and then kicked butt enough to wear that shirt while doing squats! Pretty epic, not gonna lie. Your mom is too cute. Homemade cards are the best. Have a great Friday!

  7. I’m not a big valentine’s fan either! It’s definitely a hallmark holiday! I’m not a big fan of cardio so I definitely don’t do it often but when I do I find that strength training has definitely make me stronger with cardio too!

omg i LOVE that shirt. it’s very you. i was born with a baby butt and i feel like it’ll always be that way haha. but i still squat and work with what i got!
you seriously continue to inspire me with your lack of cardio. i know, i know, no comparison traps. i read your post ;) but it still helps me when my mind is telling me DO MORE CARDIO to know that a fit girl like you took a chunk of time off from it!
i definitely get sore whenever i run since i so rarely run. it makes me hurt a lot in my hammies!

I get sore from cardio allllll the time. Any time I go for a longer run, or do some arm movement in spin class (I guess that’s more strength though) I wake up sore. It usually goes away by mid day though, I haven’t been all day sore from running in a while. I miss those days! Still loving that shirt..

How sweet! That shirt is awesome. Loooove it.
Oh yes, I’ve been sore from cardio before most definitely! Especially hills during spin! Those can leave me dying for days.

  11. Love your nails girl!!! I’m so intrigued by the workout plan. I really need to look into it after bootcamp. You getting ripped girl!

  12. So…that shirt in black is definitely sitting in my shopping cart right now…:-D I definitely want it, but I think I need to find another one that I like to make the international shipping free worth it (damn shipping to Canada). But I will gladly be your twin once I get it though :-p

And cardio can definitely leave me sore! Especially if I’m been avoiding it for a while, that first workout back to it = leg death the following day.

  13. I think Valentine’s day is silly, too, but I did enjoy feeling loved by my bf yesterday. He makes me feel that way everyday though.

LOVE your shirt! And yes, I definitely will feel sore after reincorporating sprints, or any new exercise. I started dancing again this week, and my neck even hurts. But I love feeling sore, too!

I’ve barely done any cardio over the past few months, but my new plan has me doing sprints 1-2 days/week. I completed my first round this weekend, and DAMN, I’m sore! Like you, I love the feeling, though!

Hope you had a great weekend, Brittany! <3
