A Peek into my Groceries

I can’t remember the last time I posted about my groceries. I love seeing what other people buy at the store, and what types of healthy food they usually keep in their house.

Does that make me weird? Probably. But I figured I’d share what my haul looks like. There are things that I always have on hand, and then there are things that find its way into my cart for one reason or another.

I love trying new things and incorporating new-to-me finds into my meals.

First up, meats. I always have chicken breast in the freezer, so we stocked up on extra lean ground turkey (so versatile), a turkey breast for Easter, lean steak (top sirloin is the leanest), ground buffalo (which I’ve never tried), and turkey pastrami for the madre.

Next up, odds and ends.

I always must have unsweetened almond milk and egg whites, I picked up Ezekiel tortillas to switch it up a bit from the bread, all-natural almond butter, balsamic vinegar, and some plain Chobani. I don’t always do dairy, but once in a while I can handle it.

Lastly, my favorite part – fruits and veggies.

We already had some on hand, so this time we re-stocked on spinach, cucumbers, avocados, tomatoes, lettuce, cauliflower, strawberries, and sweet potatoes.

MIMM–Easter Weekend

Hello! How was everyone’s weekend? I seriously can’t thank you all enough for all your supportive comments and tweets.

I am feeling much better lately, but still not 100%. It’s frustrating, especially because I just want to feel NORMAL again! It’s crazy how we take so many simple things for granted everyday.

I did go to the doctor, and right now we’re still not sure exactly what’s wrong, but we’re ruling things out and I have medications to help me feel better. It’s definitely working, although now I have a sore throat. It’s always something, isn’t it? Haha. Could be MUCH worse though, so I’m very lucky.

I did have to withdraw from my classes this semester because of how much I missed and the fact that I still have doctors appointments in the next few weeks. I feel as if this was actually a blessing in disguise though, because some big changes are occurring – more on that later!

Anyway, enough doctor talk.. lets get onto MIMM!

I have been in heaven to be with Bentley 24/7. He’s my obsession.

This past Friday I actually got to go on a date with one of my best blends

She got a picture of us on her camera, and I forgot, but I did get a pic of the food!

We went to another unique vegan restaurant called Darbster near our homes. There were SO many options, but I rolled with the tomato and avocado flaxbread sandwich, which came with a side salad.

This was AMAZING. Of course, I love avocado, so I knew it would be. This dish was actually raw, and it was so good. I demolished it.IMG_0698IMG_0700

Would you look at that! I actually wore REAL clothes and some arm candy… haha. I normally live in yoga pants, so this was a big deal Winking smile

Leisurely coffee in the morning instead of rushing to get to the gym has been very welcomed. My favorite part of the morning!IMG_0719

They weather has also been PERFECT, so I spent some time in the sun. I need to get some Vitamin D! Sorry to all of you that are dealing with snow!IMG_0732

I made a cauliflower crust pizza.. yum! We ate it as a side with some chicken and salad. IMG_0675

I forgot how good this snack was.. Toast with avocado and feta. Yes.

Easter was low-key for us, but we did celebrate with a turkey breast. In the shape of a heart?
