Behind the Scenes

Happpy Sunday! Who’s watching the super bowl? I’m going to a friends house later on for a party which should be fun.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really care who wins. I am a football fan for sure, I’m just not a huge fan of the teams that are playing! It’ll still be a great game to watch though I’m sure.

Anyway, this weekend has been pretty good so far! Here’s a look into the behind the scenes of my weekend.

nails

Got my nails done, I was in desperate need. It looks whiter in this picture than it is. It’s actually more pink and kind of matches my laptop haha. Perfect for Valentines day.

I also did something a littttle spontaneous and crazy.

I got my lower naval pierced! That sounds really weird, but I had my top forever now and I always thought having the upper and lower looked cool.

It definitely hurt but I’m used to piercings by now. Fun fact: I used to have almost 10 piercings! My two best friends went with me and one got her lip, and the other got a tattoo!

Lip!

Tattoo!

Luckily, we had this guy to help deal with the pain.

You only live once right? ;D

I also got some workouts in.

Some at home, some at the gym, and some runs!

An amazing new post-workout smoothie also happened in my kitchen yesterday.

  • 1.5 C. Unsweetened Almond Milk (may need more)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 pouch (or two scoops) chocolate go lean shake protein powder
  • Frozen strawberries (a handful)
  • 1 tbs. peanut flour
  • 5 drops cocoa bean stevia (or sweetener of your choice)
  • Handful of spinach
  • Pinch xanthan gum

No lie, I forgot to write down the recipe as I went along but I’m pretty sure that’s what it was.

Perfect for after a workout. I topped it with some cinnamon puffins and coconut butter.

Once you pour the warm coconut butter on the cold smoothie is hardens like an ice cream topping.

I’m off to make some breakfast! Enjoy your day and the super bowl : D

What are your plans for tonight?

Do you like coconut butter?

Do you have any piercings or tattoos?

Healthy Sausage and Peppers

Hi there, how’s everyone’s weekend so far? I woke up a lot later than usual this morning and it was pure bliss.

This is me right now. Iced coffee and blogging, nothing new here. I think I’m always eating or drinking while blogging, haha.

Yesterday for my workout I did something I haven’t done in a LONG time.

IMG_2416

Spinning! I loved it. I used to go literally like three times a week but then stopped going all together once I started training for my half.

I can’t wait to get back into it. It’s definitely an awesome workout. I was drenched by the end of it.

Today I have a run planned but since it’s already so late and I just had breakfast (kinda?) I need to wait longer to digest. I’ll probably be heading to the treadmill once again.

Dinner last night was DELICIOUS. I found these all natural chicken sausages at the store the other day and picked up a pack.

IMG_2425

I’ve never had this brand but they looked really good and had pretty great nutritional stats.

I decided to make a healthier version of sausage and peppers like my dad used to always make.

IMG_2428

First I roasted a potato that I cut into wedges and seasoned with basil.

Then I cut up some red, green, and yellow peppers and onions.

IMG_2427

I then threw the sausages in a pan and cooked them for about 8 minutes.

Once they were almost cooked, I cut them up and put the onion, peppers, and some garlic in the pan along with the sausage.

IMG_2429

I let that cook for a little while and once the peppers were almost soft I put the potatoes in and topped with some more basil and pepper.

IMG_2433

Yuuuuuum. I let that cook until the peppers were cooked.

Voilà!

This meal was so easy and one of the best I’ve made in a while. Everything worked so well together.

Do you like spinning?

What is your favorite treadmill workout?

I need ideas so I don’t die of boredom : )
