Thanksgiving Recap

Goood morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate, and if you don’t I still hope you had a wonderful Thursday :)

I saw that Jenn decided to open WIAW for Thanksgiving. So I’m going to link up! :) Thanks always Jenn!

My thanksgiving kicked off bright and early. My alarm clock was blaring in my ear at 5 am. Oh joy :)

Unfortunately, I didn’t get enough sleep the night before but I was up and ready to run!

Sleepy head.

I knew I had to get some sort of food in me before the race even though it felt too early to be eating.

Muffin and a banana. Easy enough. I still need to give you guys the muffin recipe!

Lets skip over the race. I’ll do a recap once I get my scores back and do an entire post on it. It’s my first race, I have to! :D

Here’s a sneak peak:

(Note: my best time!!)

After the race, I was on an all time high. I was so hyper and just wanted to run MORE.

I completed 6.50 in less than an hour? That is a PR for me! It was glorious.

I came home and showered immediately because I was a mess. My mom had this when I returned:

Such a beautiful day.

Then we got to work on cooking ! We were going to having dinner around 4 pm but we decided to just eat when everything was ready.

Why wait? It would give us time to digest our food babies.

Turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, steamed asparagus, organic stuffing, creamed kale (recipe here), and burnt mashed potatoes.

I made the potatoes the day before and they were AWESOME. Not to toot my own horn or anything;)

Buuuuut my mom accidentally burned them and even set off the fire alarm. It was a good day.

My brother’s really cool.

A few hours later this happened.

My homemade apple crisp with vanilla ice cream! So good.

We went to see a movie (Hugo) a while later.

I was rocking the natural hair and glasses.

Family<3 I love them.

I was falling asleep once we got home because I was EXHAUSTED from the entire day. A lot of running, early wake-up, and a bunch of carbs. That’ll do it to ya.

I think Bentley agreed :)

How was your Thanksgiving?

What was your favorite thing you ate?

Did you workout on Thanksgiving or take a break?

Thankful.

As you read this, I will be running my first race. Ever. Or I will be done running my first race ever.

It’s really not a big deal to me because it’s only a 5k, but you got to start somewhere right?

I’m still excited :D I jumped at the opportunity to sign up for a Turkey Trot in my town when I first saw it.

They give a family in need a meal and I’ve been wanting to get into racing so perfect timing!

Oh, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Of course to all who celebrate :D

I’m sure everyone will do a similar post but I would like to reflect on some of the things I’m thankful for.

Obviously I am thankful for everything in my life but that would just be ridiculous to name it all.

Betcha couldn’t see that one coming? He brings so much joy to my life and I really do not know what I would do without him.

He makes me smile just by looking at me. I’m in love =’) (I’m such a nerd).

I am thankful for…

My family.

They are what shaped me into who I am today. I’m so blessed to be so close to all of them and have such a loving relationship.

My friends. These are all my friends from growing up. I have known them forever and we’ve been through so much and still are so close. I know I can count on them for anything.

I am thankful for…

Being healthy. This allows me to run, lift weights, and really any other type of exercise with no problem. Which is obviously a huge part of my life.

I am thankful for…

Being able to afford FOOD. Some people can’t even afford to feed themselves or their children. This makes me even more thankful for being able to eat healthy, nutritious food.

I am thankful for…

Having a home. This one is obvious, but since my uncle is actually homeless (I have never met him and while it is unfortunate and it kills me that I can’t do anything about it), I am thankful that my parents have provided for us so we did not have to go through that.

College.

I’m grateful for having the chance to get a great education in order to make a future for myself. (Even though I complain sometimes, hah).

Last but not least, I am thankful for…

BLOGGING. and all my wonderful readers.

I couldn’t be happier that I started my blog and “met” all of you. I am SO glad I did. LOVE YOU ALL :D <3

And MUCH MORE. Literally, I’m thankful for all my blessings. I could ramble on for days and say silly things like nut butter and my bed, but you get the idea:D

I hope you all have the best Thanksgiving ever, enjoy yourselves!

What are you most grateful for?

Are you running a Turkey Trot?

What are you doing/eating on Thanksgiving?
